current music playing on loop:
Hey Love, Prettiest Friend and Sleeping to Dream by Jason Mraz.
there's a time to laugh, and a time to weep.
went out today, and had a ball of a time with uni friends and nj littleperson joce. i miss hanging out with my littlepeeples, all 3 of them.
came home to a hostile mum, apparently i did something terrible yesterday that deserved unforgiveness. i can't remember what i did. okay, i do remember, but can't put a finger to the part that triggered the angry button. think, it could have been a misunderstanding.
but, still, feel like it's time to weep. (in all seriousness, please.)
had iced peach tea for dinner, because of too full lunch, and now a 3/4-polished cup of instant noodles is sitting next to me. i'm suddenly made aware of the junk i eat, and the need to exercise and perhaps turn into something closer to musclewoman. like, elastigirl. which means i need running shoes. not that i'm going to run (it'd be a mighty joke, something worthy of a 2-page spread in ST Home.) , but the colleagues have been asking to play bball/frisbee/walk (to cater to the lazy bones that is yours truly) and if i keep to my sneakers i might lose the heel of my feet or something.
ah, shut up ros.
quite some work i brought home to do, to be done by tomorrow. well, 'quite some' is subjective, just like how some people say that they are 'slightly' over 20 when they are, in actual fact, 28. i shall not complain. i shall say, 'thank God that i have work to do, and are kept busy, when others out there are jobless and are desperately looking for anything they can possibly do to bring in the dough.'
that will do.
i wish we were having the one week break that others will have next week. and i wish i have the time to watch a decent movie, and people to watch with. (i say these all at the risk of sounding like a loser.) hate the different schedules, the different priorities, the fact that i haven't watched the curious case of brad pitt movie. kill me now.
and as i work, i can't help but wonder if this is what i want to do next time. my mind wanders to the different kinds of careers i could have (because if my taitai dream fails, i'll actually NEED to work to support my 10 children). and i realise, sadly, that all work sucks and the world sucks when it comes to work, and it really is a mighty blessing if you really love your work and the people involved in that. i wonder then, if being an illustrator has gotta be the best job in the world. you are given a text, a story, and you draw the story out so readers who are visually-challenged can see and understand the story better.
i think of all this and my head starts to spin.
and i think, i need to really find my rich old man soon. okay, heck the old part. i'd even take him if he doesn't have a goatee or moustie.
ah, wake up ros. no, go sleep. you need it.
(and perhaps i will stop talking to myself.)
